Greetings!
Welcome to the launch of this website whose purpose is to pay tribute to the life and literary works of Irvin S. Cobb. Cobb was a great writer and American public personality of his time and unless you were born or have lived in western Kentucky where Cobb was from, then it seems that most people today have never heard of him. Cobb had a very unique sense of writing and style that catapulted him to notoriety during the first half of the twentieth century. It has been said by many literary experts that Cobb's writing style can be paralleled to that of another American humorist and Cobb contemporary, Mark Twain.
Just last week, Irvin Cobb enthusiasts celebrated the 132nd anniversary of his birth. When I went online to find out more about Cobb, I was surprised to learn that not a comprehensive website was created as a tribute to this unique literary figure. Therefore, I took the initiative to register www.IrvinSCobb.com as the domain for this site since an online tribute to him is very much overdue.
Please be advised that this website is a work in progress and I will be adding content and resources as my personal time permits. Over time, I hope this website will be the most comprehensive place where people can learn all about Cobb, his literary work, and the times in which he lived.
